Issues with the RaceStudio 3 installer¶
We’re having feedbacks of some rare cases with RaceStudio 3 failing to update.
Roughly, ‘rare’ means once per month, in our feedbacks.
This can happen both with the RaceStudio 3 downloaded from the website and with the RaceStudio 3 updating from the WebUpdates page within RaceStudio 3 itself. Both procedures share the use oth the same installer executable, so origins and solutions of the issues can be the same.
Solution¶
Here’s what, till now, fixed all cases we were fed back about.
Please proceed through every single step described in the following lines.
Windows Updates
Doublecheck if the PC features pending Windows updates. In case it does, please apply them.
Reboot the PC.
Redistributable C++ packages
The ‘redistributable packages’, ‘redist’ from now on, are single executable files downloadable from Microsoft websites. Each redist provides a unique and verified (from Microsoft itself) installation for all the C++ components needed to make any piece of software work correctly, whenever built upon those components. Each redist automatically doublechecks and installs all needed components, and do nothing in case nothing is needed.
